The Paper Gardens

I've been reading since I was 3, and I haven't seen any reason to stop. I'll read pretty much anything I can get my hands on, though I will admit to a crippling addiction to fantasy and YA books.

Prom for One

Prom for One - Marcy Blesy Everything that can go wrong for Lexie does go wrong.

The boy she's been in love with forever is taking his perfect girlfriend to the prom, while Lexie has to fend off an obsessive creep. And her dad's still overseas.

And then she pulls herself together enough to go to prom by herself...and the obsessive creep humiliates her in front of everybody.

Despite how horrible the night starts out, the ending is salvaged into a "happily ever after".

I'll give the book credit for being one of the more realistic teen fictions I've read. While there's drama going on, it's not one of those books where the high school experience is made to be the most important thing in Lexie's life. She's got thoughts and worries outside of whether or not the guy she likes will ever fall for her.
